Well it's here....the 24th May 2008.
Weather not too bad, new clutch working fine, bag packed and of we head for Peterborough District Hospital where we meet up with Steve and Martin from PMCC (updates to follow).

On leaving PDH all three bikes then went onto the Edith Cavell & the Fitzwillam Hospitals, both in Peterborough before splitting and going our seperate ways.
We headed for Leicester, taking photo's at Peterborough, Corby, Kettering & Market Harborough. We did not visit all of the hospitals in Leicester as we just couldn't find them, new challenge for next year!
Then it was onto Nottingham Via Loughborough which we reached at 5.34pm. We was going to stop for food at this point, but thought no lets keep going in the daylight...so thats what we did.
Onto St Kirby in Ashfield, Sutton in Ashfield, where we stopped for a sausage roll and a mars bar and a good stretch before going onto Mansfield and arriving in Newark at 8.30pm. Now the ache's and pain's were just begining to be felt.
The hunger pains now setting in, time for another Mars bar arriving at the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston at 10.15pm before heading to Spalding....lets go to MacDonalds there...bad call...11.00pm....SHUT....another couple of Mars Bars.
Heading back towards Peterborough for Cambridge the wind picked up...good job packed those extra layers, we pulled into services and took some time out before reaching Hinchingbrooke Hospital at 2.30am. The pace was now slowing down, the bike seemed to be growing in height and our helmets seemed so heavy, so we just took longer stops. We reached Cambridge at 4.10am, the sun coming up, the roads so empty and quiet it didn't seem like the busy place it is....but peaceful.
As the birds sang and traffic began to emerge on what was the peaceful place we headed off for Newmarket....wish we had stayed in Cambridge. As soon as we hit those open roads..........WIND..... that seemed to go right though us both (I forgot to pack hot water bottles).
We carried on taking it easy and as we arrived in Ely at 6.30am ...RAIN....ALL THE WAY BACK TO PETERBOROUGH.
MacDonalds...where...Kings lynn...so off to Kings lynn
Food, 7.45am which was long overdue was bacon rolls coffee and hot chocolate with a well earned rest somewhere warm.
9.00am on to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital... rain...then head back to PDH.
Another stop, this time Tesco at Wisbech for BLT and a bakewell tart.
On the move again..rain..another stop, Triumph at Eye, a coffee and off
Rain....Peterborough
We have done it!
One mistake though...will make sure we get the photo next year...of the PETERBOROUGH DISTRICT HOSPITAL sign.
The friend in all the photo's is Snort.
